Germany-based Ghanaian, John Mensah has disclosed that due to an injury incurred in Libya, he has not worked since he arrived in Europe.
In an interview on SVTV Africa, John revealed that he traveled to Europe by sea after working in Libya for months. According to John, the Arabs tortured them while in Libya. He sustained injuries to his back and legs.
Eventually, John made it to Italy. However, the Italian immigration failed to give him the needed medical attention. As a result, he migrated to Germany to seek medical care.
“I stayed in the Italian refugee camp for three years, but they kept postponing the medical appointment. A friend advised me to come to Germany,” he recounted.
Mr. Mensah added that he traveled to Germany in 2019 and got the medical care he needed at a refugee camp in Leipzig.
“They transported me to another city, and a week later, I visited the hospital, but the injury had gotten worse. They took me through some physical therapy after two weeks at the hospital,” he told DJ Nyaami.
According to Mr. John, the German immigration may deport him to Italy after his recovery. Presently, the German government takes care of his rent and feeding until he fully recovers.
