Irene Agyemang is a 50-year-old security woman with a state agency here in Ghana and she shared with SVTV Africa why she believes that one should not depend too much on family.
Speaking to host, DJ Nyaami, Irene indicated that her mother almost got her fired from her job for something that could have happened to anyone.
“I bought something for myself and my mother said she wanted the same so I got it for her. Unfortunately, I was swindled by the sellers but my mom thought it was intentional.
So she reported me to our headquarters for ‘stealing’ her money. She connived with my sister and uncle to get me out of the job. I even had a stroke in the process of all that,” she disclosed.
The 50-year-old widow went on to support her claim; adding that her late husband’s family gave her a cold shoulder after her husband’s death.
“I never knew that they never liked me. I did everything an in-law should do. I saw my husband through school, saw his sibling through SHS. If my husband did not die, I wouldn’t have known that they never liked me,” she added.
Madam Agyemang hinted that she got married to her late husband at the age of 20. Being a recruit at the time, her husband wanted to marry her before she got out of training.
