A young man (name withheld) recently disclosed that he spent more than 4 million cedis in the Aviator game, which led to significant financial trouble.
In a chat with DJ Nyaami on M’ahintasɛm (My Secret), the 27-year-old explained that his gambling addiction has not only drained his savings but also plunged him into debt, with an outstanding amount of $25,000.
This dire situation has forced him to go into hiding, as he feels the pressure from his creditors is overwhelming. He shared his story as a cautionary tale about the dangers of gambling and the impact it can have on one’s life.
“My friends introduced the game to me. My friend gave me $25,000 to keep for him but I spent it all on the game. I’ve spent my customers’ money on the game. I couldn’t control myself. It is very addictive and once you put money into it, you would want to get it back by any means. And that means putting in more money.
I’ve wasted over 4 million cedis on Aviator and I’m in debt now. I’ve sold everything I own to pay off the debt but still owe over $25,000. I don’t even have Ghs200 on me as I speak. The game is a scam.”
The young man mentioned that he had quit the game with a renewed mindset and advised the youth to “surrender now and block your account because it is addictive.
