Helena Adu, a Ghanaian based in the UAE disclosed that she will not return to Ghana because she earns GHS7000 as a cleaner with benefits.
Speaking with DJ Nyaami on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Helena indicated that she was an entrepreneur in Ghana and earned GHS1000 in profits but decided to apply for the cleaning job for a GHS1600 salary.
After four years in Abu Dhabi, Helena says she will not return to Ghana unless forced to leave the country. According to Miss Adu, she does not pay rent or utilities as she lives in a company-provided apartment.
“Aside from the rent and utilities, I get one month’s leave annually. I’m comfortable here. My kids live with their father in Ghana, and I support them best. It’s not a tough job and I live with other Ghanaians, so I don’t get bored.”
“I got a three-month leave but I didn’t visit Ghana. I was here the whole time. I won’t return to Ghana unless the UAE deports me,” she said jokingly.
