Canada-based Ghanaian Mr Junior revealed that his father sold off his cocoa farm worth 7000 euros for him to travel abroad but the travel agent duped him.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Mr Junior disclosed that he waited on the travel agent for two years but could not secure a visa to Germany as planned. He added that his
“My father sold the farm to invest in me in 2020. We sent 7000 euros to the ‘connection man’ (travel agent) and he sent me the visa within one month. I did not go for any interview or do biometrics but he told me it was ready. I said my goodbyes to my colleagues and went to Accra.
One month later I was still in Accra waiting to fly to Germany. The agent kept giving me stories. I waited for two years and was still waiting to fly. Meanwhile, I had secured a loan, so they deducted it from my salary. My salary dropped from GHS3000 to GHS800,” he said.
Mr Junior added that a friend advised him to apply to universities abroad and he received admission to school in Canada without paying an agent.
