Canada-based Ghanaian Sandra disclosed that she cried on her first day of work in Canada after leaving behind her great job in Ghana.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Sandra indicated that she reluctantly moved to Canada to join her husband after their wedding. She expressed her regrets in the first few months of living in Canada but braved through it.
“At the time, I worked as a secretary for an NGO supported by the British government. The pay was good, and it was a comfortable job. So it was disappointing and difficult, especially with the weather here. I had a bug culture shock.
I got my first job at a manufacturing company. I was on my feet for hours, and they scolded me because it was my first time. I couldn’t walk. I cried like a baby when I got home. I didn’t go back to that job again.”
Madam Sandra mentioned she got an office job, where she stayed for six years before starting a nursing course. She has worked as a nurse in Canada for 13 years.
Having lived in Canada for 26 years, Madam Sandra enlightened viewers of life in Canada and abroad in general, and advised the Ghanaian youth against making the same mistake she made.
