Spain-based Ghanaian Johnson Adu shared the story of his journey from Mauritania to Morocco, indicating that he went without food for four days.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide on SVTV AFRICA, Johnson mentioned that an agent told him about the trip through Morocco to Europe and decided to leave his family, job and life in Ghana to embark on the fatal journey.
Johnson left Ghana with his friend and other migrants who agreed to join. They passed through Mali and Senegal to Mauritania, where the ‘connection’ to Europe began.
“When we arrived in Mauritania, I called my wife and asked her to sell my car to continue the journey. Three days later, she called and paid the agent.
We spent three months in the desert between Mauritania and Morocco.
We stayed in the bushes because one of the agents fled with the money meant to buy a boat. We went four days without food and had to drink water from potholes when it rained,” he narrated.
According to Johnson, they were detained in the camp for weeks when they finally arrived in Las Palmas, Spain and eventually settled into the country after a while.
