Germany-based Ghanaian Bernard Yaw Boafo has stated that Ghana has only one per cent of the jobs available in Germany.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA, Bernard mentioned that Germany runs on a 48-hour economy while Ghana runs on an 8-hour economy. He indicated that that system requires more human labour, hence the provision of more jobs.
Sharing his experience with finding a job and his perceptions about Germany, Bernard said, “anyone who says life abroad is bad may not have travelled before. The jobs in Ghana are about one per cent of jobs available here in Germany.”
“There are government jobs here, but the private sector thrives more. There are companies here that are over 100 years ago, and it is always running,” he told DJ Nyaami.
Moreover, Bernard advised people who wish to travel abroad to learn the country’s language before leaving. According to Bernard, the best time to travel abroad for school or work is between 18 to 25 years.
“I’ll encourage the youth between 18 to 25 years because it can take between five to ten years to get your documents. So it’d be better to come early,” he added.
