Ghanaian musician 2Sure recently appeared on Daily Hustle GH with DJ Nyaami, where he candidly discussed the challenges he faced following his appearance on Date Rush.
2Sure became widely known after participating in Date Rush five years ago. However, he admitted that he did not inform his wife before joining the show. During the reunion episode, his secret was exposed when someone invited his wife to the event. While on stage, he denied being married, unaware that his wife was in the audience. She was given the microphone and publicly confronted him, leaving him devastated.
Feeling remorseful, he knelt on live television to beg for her forgiveness, which she granted. However, the backlash was immediate:
Due to the controversy, a GH₵150,000 contract from a New York-based sponsor was revoked.
He suffered internal bleeding and was later diagnosed with poisoning.
He lost all his assets, including his car, and faced severe financial hardship.
Several international connections were severed, but individuals like Sammy Flex, Archipalago, and Zion Felix stepped in to offer support.
2Sure got a contract to travel to Dubai, South Africa for shows, he made his first trip to Dubai for a Ghana Day entertainment event. Initially, he stayed in a luxurious hotel, but when COVID-19 lockdowns were imposed, his financial sponsor ran out of funds, leaving him stranded.
Desperate for survival, he asked his wife to sell his land and send him money. He invested GH₵70,000 in iPhones, hoping to start a business. Unfortunately, the phones turned out to be faulty, leading to significant losses.
When his three-month Dubai visa expired, he struggled to return home. Fortunately, Vice President Bawumia intervened, and he was able to secure a flight back to Ghana.
2Sure tried his hand at phone sales, but legal issues arose after customers reported receiving faulty devices.
He performed at various music gigs, yet some event organizers failed to pay him, forcing him to cover expenses out of pocket.
His music career has struggled due to financial constraints, making it difficult to fund promotions. Currently, he is pushing his new single, “Yenda,” but lacks the GH₵40,000 needed for a professional music video.
Despite these setbacks, 2Sure remains determined to rebuild his life. He is now:
He is currently selling cars and phones while using his influence to promote businesses.
Despite challenges, he remains committed to providing for his four children, who attend top-tier schools, ensuring they have a solid foundation.
