Akosua Shares Her Experience Living and Working in the UK
Akosua, a returning guest on Daily Hustle Worldwide, hosted by SVTV Africa CEO DJ Nyaami, opened up about her life in the UK, her job, and her plans for the future.
Akosua revealed that she celebrated Christmas at work, but the start of 2024 was challenging for her as she lost her job at one point.
However, she managed to secure a new position through a recommendation, noting that she wasn’t even asked for her documents during the hiring process.

She currently works at a care home, taking care of teenagers aged 12 to 17 who are under government care.
Describing her job as stress-free, she said,
“It’s like taking care of younger siblings. They mostly sleep at night, and I only help when they need support, like cooking.”
Although the job is less demanding, Akosua works long hours—sometimes up to 15 hours a day—and her schedule varies from 24 to 38 hours per week.
She admitted that life in the UK can be stressful, especially since she rarely sees the sun and has to plan ahead to visit friends or family.
Akosua clarified that she has gained weight, but it’s not because she has had children. Instead, her less strenuous job and ability to sleep more have contributed to her weight gain.
When asked about dating, Akosua reiterated her stance from a previous interview: she is currently okay being single and emphasized that financial stability is a key factor for her in a relationship.
Reflecting on her experience, Akosua advised people who are desperate to travel abroad to conduct thorough research before making the move.
“Many people just want to travel without knowing what life abroad entails. They should make inquiries before taking such steps,” she said
Having completed college, Akosua is now preparing to pursue university education. Despite the challenges of living abroad, she remains optimistic and focused on building a better future.
In her conclusion, Akosua stated,
“Life in the UK is not easy, but with determination and the right connections, you can find your footing.”
