Adwoa, a Ghanaian who relocated to Canada, shared her experiences of pursuing a better life in a new country but was met with unexpected circumstances.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Adwoa travelled with high hopes, expecting to secure employment quickly and build a stable future. However, upon her arrival, she faced a stark contrast to her expectations.
Adwoa recounted how an agent assured her of a midwifery position but unfortunately, the reality proved to be challenging. She found herself without a job for a month.
Eventually Adwoa secures a job in healthcare and also started a food business. She cooks on order for the Ghanaian community in her city.
“I travelled for a better future for my kids. I thought it would be easier to make it abroad but the reality was different. It was taught when I first arrived but it got better. I get orders to cook for the Ghanaians here and I can host up to 20 people in my house,” she noted.
