A Ghanaian man disclosed on M’ahintasem (My Secret) that he joined a covert group of men dressed in military-style uniforms with the backing of active-duty army personnel.
According to him, the group was engaged in strategically planned operations aimed at ambushing drug dealers and other criminals to intercept these criminals and confiscate their illicit profits.
The middle-aged man revealed that he was trained in the military but his group could not graduate into army personnel. He leveraged his military training in these interventions.
“I became jobless after we were sacked from the army. So I visited a friend to ask for a job. I knew he was into something but I wasn’t sure until he took me in. He gave me military uniforms and guns and briefed me on what we were to do.
The information comes from above and we execute it. Sometimes, we ambushed cocaine dealers acting like we were doing a usual inspection and then they’d pay us. Other times, it was counterfeit dealers.”
He told SVTV Africa’s DJ Nyaami that he made GHS20,000 to Ghs40,000 a night and did it for three years.
