UAE-based Ghanaian Henry Clarke shared his breakup story, stating that she broke up with him and got married two months later, which affected him.
Speaking with SVTV AFRICA’s DJ Nyaami, Henry reflected on a painful chapter of his life. He shared that his ex-girlfriend ended their relationship unexpectedly, only to tie the knot with someone else just two months later.
This abrupt change left Henry feeling heartbroken and confused. For nearly two years, he found it difficult to enter into a relationship again, burdened by the memories of their relationship.
According to Henry, one of the main reasons his ex chose to break things off was her concerns about his financial situation. He worked at the airport, and his ex-girlfriend thought he earned more than he claimed. Despite the job providing a stable income, it wasn’t enough to meet her expectations.
“I was paid Ghs230 back in 2013 when I started the job. She expected me to release ‘block’ because I worked at the airport but the money was not sufficient. It wasn’t just her. Many people assumed I earned a lot. That was my first heartbreak and I couldn’t date for two years.”
Henry struggled with this perception, feeling that his worth was being judged solely by his salary rather than the qualities he brought to the relationship.
