Austria-based Ghanaian Maame Nyarko revealed that she regretted leaving behind her business for Germany and slept on an empty stomach for days.
Maame Nyarko recounted her emotional arrival in Germany with SVTV AFRICA’s DJ Nyaami, saying that tears streamed down her face as she faced the harsh reality of starting anew with her children in a foreign land. The transition was deeply unsettling, as she grappled with the challenges of unfamiliar surroundings and the responsibilities of motherhood.
According to Maame Nyarko, she often went to bed on an empty stomach, which was completely opposite to the life she had built in Ghana. She expressed her frustration and sorrow at the situation she now faced.
The motivations behind her move to Germany were complicated. Her ex-husband persuaded her to make the journey, promising a brighter future. However, once she arrived, he stopped communicating with her, leaving her isolated and struggling.
It became apparent that his intentions were selfish, as he sought to take control of the business she managed in Ghana, yet he never dared to discuss his plans openly with her.
