Germany-based Ghanaian Adu disclosed that he regretted selling drugs after two of his friends died in the trade. It took years for the police to track him down.
In an SVTV AFRICA chat with DJ Nyaami, Adu mentioned that he was entrenched in the illegal drug trade in Kumasi for several years, skillfully evading law enforcement for nearly four years before they finally caught up with him.
Looking back on his time in the drug business, Adu expressed profound regret about his role in it and acknowledged the devastating impact it had on countless lives within the community.
He recalled a particularly poignant moment when two young boys approached him, desperate for financial assistance to fund their journey to Libya. Instead of helping them positively, he made a grave decision to offer them drugs instead, reflecting on how his choices resulted in their death.
Adu also sheds light on a darker aspect of the drug trade, revealing that some national leaders are deeply entrenched in the sale and distribution of drugs, further complicating efforts to combat this pervasive issue. His insights illustrate not only his regrets but also the systemic challenges that contribute to the ongoing drug crisis in his hometown.
