Awurama, a Ghanaian based in Germany disclosed that she may not considered travelling abroad if she had a job that paid GHS3000 monthly.
In an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV AFRICA, Awurama shared her experience in Germany and the money she lost to a travel agent. Awurama and her husband with the help of the family paid $7500 as part of the payment for the process but the agent duped them.
“My brother took most of the cost. My husband and I sold our car but it failed. We lost everything but I did not give up. The agent charged $15,000 in 2021 but we never heard from him again.”
Speaking on her experience working in Germany, Awurama said, “You can’t live here if you’re lazy and you can’t survive with one job. There are advantages and disadvantages.”
“I have a house and a car in Ghana. I may not have come here to struggle if we had a good system in Ghana. I always say that I may not have been eager to leave if I had a job that paid GHS3000. Getting a job (in Ghana) alone is a struggle for women especially,” she said on Daily Hustle Worldwide.
Awurama added that she plans to bring her kids to Germany but would like to return to Ghana in a decade.
