Davis Kwakye, a Ghanaian English teacher based in Columbia disclosed that he will only leave Columbia for the US if the job offers $7000 monthly.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Davis mentioned that he earns more than enough and is comfortable in Columbia. However, he may consider settling in the US if the job pays $7000 monthly.
“Many Africans including Ghanaians only pass through Columbia on their way to the US but I can’t make that journey. I got a working permit in Ghana and eventually a permanent residence,” he told DJ Nyaami.
Davis teaches in an international school and enjoys many benefits besides his pay. He mentioned free accommodation among many others.
He said, “It doesn’t matter where you live. What you do there is more important. There are poor people in America too. I won’t quit my job to walk to the US. I can’t handle that stress. I prefer a direct job offer from here that pays $7000 to $8000.”
