South Africa-based Ghanaian Bismark disclosed that he couldn’t find a job in his field of study after graduating and resorted to 16 hours of menial jobs daily.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Bismark mentioned that he lived and worked in South Africa before travelling to New Zealand to study. Bismark hoped to get an engineering job after school but could not find any jobs.
As a result, he took on menial jobs but stated that they took a toll on his health. He said, “My blood pressure increased and the doctor advised me to reduce my working hours. The frustration of being a graduate working menial jobs added to the stress. I worked 10 hours during the day and six at night. So, I couldn’t sleep.”
Bismark returned to South Africa after a friend informed him of a senior-level job position.
“People may wonder why I left New Zealand for South Africa but I am far better here than New Zealand. I earned more money in New Zealand, but I spent most of it on rent and bills, unlike in South Africa. It is a simple office job and I rest well,” he added.
