Ghanaian truck driver, Miss Comfort disclosed that she earns more than many degree holders in Ghana.
In a chat on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Miss Comfort mentioned that despite her educational background, she makes more money than many university degree holders.
Comfort was raised learning from her engineer father and chose to pursue a degree in Automobile Engineering at Don Bosco Technical Institute. From there, she moved on to gather experience and skill set in forklift and crane operations, and she decided to work as a truck driver.
“I didn’t want to attend a secondary school because I knew what I wanted to do. Choosing a technical school helped me a lot. We all think secondary school is the best way but there are no jobs after.
But you’d make money faster if you got a skill. I didn’t attend university but I am far better than a degree or HND holder,” she said.
Miss Comfort reiterated the importance of acquiring a skill. Speaking on the challenges, she said, “It’s not difficult for me. I love what I do. Many people approach me every day wanting to learn.”
