US-based Ghanaian Amin shared his travel journey from Ghana to the US revealing that they had to swim across the Mexico-US border.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Amin mentioned that he travelled by flight to Columbia where he began his journey but was delayed for days due to flight ticket issues. Amin went through Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala before arriving in Mexico City.
“The only issue I had was the flight issues. It took two weeks to get to the US from Ghana. I spent $15,000 to get here. We swam across the border from Mexico to the United States. We would have drowned if I did not know how to swim because most of them could not swim. We held hands to help each other to cross.”
Amin told DJ Nyaami of SVTV Africa that he had quickly recouped the $15,000 he spent in the US. However, the young man disclosed that he almost returned to Ghana when he first arrived in the US.
“I wanted to return to Ghana because I owned a business in Ghana and I was comfortable. Starting over was challenging but I’m glad I stayed because you can make money here if you’re hardworking,” Amin added.
