James Yakubu, a Ghanaian based in Italy shared how a White man stole over $5000 meant to pay for a ‘connection’ to Europe from his hotel room while he was away.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, James mentioned that he almost committed suicide after the incident. According to James, a friend introduced him to the White man but he turned out to be a fraud.
“The White man and I booked a hotel in Cantonments. I left my bag in my hotel room and visited my friends at Circle the next morning. When I arrived at the hotel, the bag was gone. The White man took my key from the reception while the receptionist was away and stole my money and passport.
I returned to Mampong and became suicidal. I bought the drugs and got drunk that day but the alcohol saved me. I tasted the drug and fell asleep. My mom visited me the next morning when she heard that I was drunk and spoke to me.”
James mentioned that the $5000 was saved from his time in Libya. Later in 2013, he returned to Libya and crossed the Mediterranean to Italy.
