Kamal Samgbe, a Ghanaian based in the US shared a story of how his wife warned him to inform his family that she was the owner of the land Kamal was building their home.
According to Kamal, he planned to rent a house for them to live in after failed attempts at buying land in his desired area. Speaking on SVTV Africa Kamal indicated that his ex-wife then advised that they built the house on her land instead.
“She had only laid the foundation, so I took over and built the house to completion. I was building my house but it was too big to complete before our marriage. That’s why I built a smaller one on my wife’s land.
One month into the wedding, she called to tell me to inform my family that the land was hers. So, we talked about it and trashed it out. Then a week before the wedding, she mentioned it again saying that in case something happens in future,” he recounted.
Kamal added that he cancelled the marriage after that conversation but his mother advised him against it and eventually married her. He stayed in Ghana for nine months and a week before his departure, his wife brought it up again.
“That was the third time she brought it up saying in case something happens to me. So I got scared and put my mother’s name on my property. I called for a family meeting with both families and told my sister that in case I die, they should give the house to my wife,” he told DJ Nyaami.
