Ghanaian based in the US, Joseph Amarteifio stated that despite the immense opportunities in America, it is not as he anticipated and added that the country is somewhat overhyped.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Joseph shared his travel journey from Ghana to the US and his thoughts on the system. According to Joseph, living abroad is not as many anticipate, adding that America is overhyped.
“Settling in was tough because I felt lost. At least in Ghana, I had a job and knew what I was about but everything changed abruptly. Some people hated me just because I came with a green card.
The country is overhyped. The opportunities are here but you ought to be vigilant. You have to build your credit, otherwise it blocks these opportunities. That is one lesson I learned the hard way,” he told DJ Nyaami.
Speaking about his journey, Joseph said, “My friend won the lottery and applied for me without my knowledge. He just took my details and passport picture and never told me the purpose for taking them. Six months after he left, I got a call that I had won. I told him about it and that was when he told me he was behind it.”
