Sweden-based Ghanaian Eben revealed that he started internet fraud in high school and got $6000 daily with six cars packed in his home.
In an interview on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Eben mentioned that he started ‘browsing’ after he impregnated his girlfriend and felt the need to cater for himself and his baby. According to Eben, his father ceased caring for him financially after the news broke.
“I started it while in SHS 2 in 2005. I owned six cars. We didn’t know what to do with the money we got and my father didn’t come close because he thought it was blood money. Many people thought so but it wasn’t juju.
I could get $6000 daily for months from one client. At a point, we got scared because we were wondering how one person could send that much daily.”
Eben mentioned that he eventually lost the client and sold all the cars. Also, he never thought of investing the money because he lacked guidance.
“While losing the money and cars, I wanted to visit a fetish priest. My car tyre burst in the middle of nowhere at night and while waiting for a vulcaniser, I thought to myself ‘What if I die here? How would my father even find my body?’ I had a change of mind and eventually quit fraud, he recounted.
