Hamza Inuza has stated that he believes the Danish embassy (Accra) denied his visa application without thorough checks and he shared reasons for his claim.
Speaking on SVTV Africa, Mr Inuza disclosed that he and his wife received an invite from a Ghanaian based in Sweden to attend a program, and applied through the Danish Embassy (in charge of Sweden visit visas). Still, they were both denied on separate grounds.
According to the refusal letter, his reason for the application was not justified, however, he explicitly stated his reasons for the visa. Mr Inuza added that his wife was denied because the visa officer did not believe she would return to Ghana.
“I’ve travelled to the US more than twenty times and my wife still has an active US visa. I’ve been to Japan, Canada and Denmark before, and the same documents got me those visas. I think there is more to it than they’re telling us. They did not go through the document otherwise they would have noticed. Otherwise, why did they deny me and my wife on different grounds,” he quizzed.
Mr Inuza and his wife, Hajia mentioned that they have petitioned the embassy to review their documents and are awaiting a response.
Some Ghanaians living in Sweden and Ghana are dissatisfied with the frequent rejection of visa applications from Ghana, urging the Ghanaian Foreign Ministry to take action.
