Patrick, a ride-hailing service driver stated that many of his friends disrespect him because of his job but he makes more money than them.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Ghana, Patrick mentioned that he is unperturbed by comments from his friends because he makes money and has made lifelong friends from the job.
“Besides the challenges we face working for these companies, I make enough in a week and am comfortable. I make more than office workers make at the end of the month. Even my office friends disrespect me because I’m a driver but I make more.
I work as a driver full-time and I take care of my parents and everything else with what I make as a driver. I’ve also met many Ghanaians abroad through my social media. Some are like family now,” he told DJ Nyaami.
Speaking on the challenges he faces as a ride-hailing service driver, Patrick indicated that fuel costs make the job difficult. Moreover, Patrick complained about the excessive commissions they pay to the ride-hailing service companies.
