Nana Osei, a Canada-based Ghanaian disclosed that he earned Ghs5000 selling coconut in Kumasi but decided to travel abroad after an encounter with a customer.
In a Daily Hustle worldwide interview on SVTV Africa, Nana Osei mentioned that he had two branches in Kumasi and sold about a thousand pieces of coconut weekly. He was quite comfortable in Ghana but could not resist the chance to explore other parts of the world.
“It was a good business. I bought about 3000 pieces and I could sell 1000 pieces a week. I bought it at 3 pieces for GHS2 and sold one for GHS5 but it was well branded.
I started the business with GHS1300 and ran it for almost four years. The business catered for everything and even bought a car. That was how I funded my trip to Canada.”
According to Nana Osei, a customer advised him to travel abroad and promised to help him throughout the process. Nana Osei mentioned that he was doubtful in the beginning but provided the money and eventually got a study visa to Canada.
