Edward Prempeh, a Ghanaian based in Germany disclosed that his hosts in Germany practically gave away their daughter to him for marriage when he had not fully integrated into the system.
Edward mentioned that he did not have a stable job or the needed documents. But he had to marry her for their sake and the good they did for him. In a chat on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Edward indicated that they were a year after his wife arrived in Italy.
“He (the host) had every opportunity to help her get documents but he didn’t because he just wanted her out of his house to focus on his marriage. My wife had a stepmother. My wife also did not come to Italy with marriage in mind.
So, she did not want the marriage. Her parents forced her on me. Life became very tough because I had to now deal with her documentation and mine too. I lost my job in 2015 and we had three kids to cater to.”
