Ginger Corbeil, a US-based Ghanaian opened up about her alcohol addiction and how she became depressed and suicidal.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Ginger mentioned that she often her money and belongings away whenever she was intoxicated. This pushed her into a depressive state, contemplating suicide.
“I googled drugs to take because I wanted it to be quick and painless. I wanted to sleep and never wake up. But as I googled, the police were looking to find me. They came to my house and asked questions with an option. I only drank champagne but I was easily intoxicated. I gave out my money and belongings whenever I was drunk,” she recounted.
Ginger’s family had to bring her to Ghana to heal. She disclosed that it was a spiritual attack on her. Through prayers and herbal medicine, Ginger has been sober for almost a year now.
“I was in Ghana for four months and I’ve been sober since then. I don’t even like the scent of hand sanitizer now. I returned to the US a new person and I also accepted Christ, so I’m a Christian,” she said on SVTV Africa.
Ginger enlightened others about the dangers of depression and advised viewers to open up to a family or a professional for help.
