Nana Boateng, a Ghanaian based in Italy, disclosed that many Ghanaian women in Italy reject them because of their journey to Europe.
Nana Boateng shared his 8-year experience living in Italy and how other Africans in Italy discriminate against them because of the fatal journey they endured to get to Italy.
In an interview on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Nana Boateng mentioned he is unable to approach Ghanaian ladies because of the ‘heartless’ tag. According to him, it often comes up in the first few conversations.
“They often say we’re not empathetic and that we are wicked because we’ve gone through all the painful things one could experience. I saw many dead bodies in Libya. So they think we’re heartless. Finding a woman in Italy has been tough but I’ll surely find one here. I’m not coming to Ghana anytime soon.”
Moreover, Nana Boateng added that some parents demand 10,000 euros before giving their daughter out for marriage. He advised parents against charging prospective husbands because it means that their daughters have been sold to them.
Speaking about his time in Libya, Nana Boateng disclosed that he was detained twice and beaten to a pulp by Libyan authorities for trying to cross the Mediterranean.
