Cameroonian based in the US, Kali stated that he could not stay in Germany because of discrimination and the difficulty in integration.
In a Daily Hustle Worldwide interview on SVTV Africa, Kali mentioned that he struggled to integrate despite schooling there for years, mainly because of the language barrier. Moreover, he shared his encounter with Germans who discriminated against him because of his race.
“Staying in Germany meant I had to study the language because it is difficult to get an English job in Germany. You cannot get a professional job in Germany without learning the language. I had to spend four years to be fluent in German.
Secondly, the discrimination. The German government are making the immigration process easy for people to come, but the citizens are racists. My friends and I went to four different clubs to have fun, and they refused us entry. That’s just one of many encounters,” he said.
Kali added that he became depressed in Germany even though he had a good-paying job. As a result, he decided to relocate to the US for better opportunities and social life.
“Depression was killing me. The environment was not conducive for me. I’m young, and I need to be able to have fun on weekends,” he added.
