Hajia, a Ghanaian who has been living in Egypt for years, disclosed that some Ghanaian agents in Egypt kidnapped her for days and planned to have her wrongfully detained for five years.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Hajia mentioned that she worked in collaboration with the Ghana embassy in Egypt for the safe return of young Ghanaian girls lured to Egypt to work in harsh conditions with no pay.
As a result of this, eight Ghanaian agents plotted to have her arrested and jailed in Egypt because she was a disruption to their business. She recounted the ordeal she went through at the hands of the Ghanaian agents and how the Egyptian officials ensured her safe return to Ghana.
“I paid for flight tickets for some girls to return to Ghana after they were arrested. That was my sin. The agent said I should not have let her worker leave the country. They kidnapped me for three days. I heard one of them speaking on the phone about their plan to plant cocaine on me to be jailed for five years.
They had prepared the file for the case to be sent to the court the next day. I explained everything to the Egyptian police officer, and they helped me settle the case. I reported the Ghanaians who kidnapped me. They even plastered my photos at the airport as an illegal immigrant,” she recounted.
Moreover, Hajia alleged that some workers at the Ghana embassy in Egypt also act as agents to lure young Ghanaian girls to work and pay huge sums of money.
