Jerry Appiah Ntiamoah, a Ghanaian based in the UK, revealed that his father, who was supposed to sponsor his education, died three months after he travelled and had to work several jobs to pay his fees.
In a chat on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Jerry revealed that he was supposed to pay £21,000 a year with support from his father. However, upon his father’s demise, Jerry had to work many if he wanted to continue his education.
Besides the death of his father, Jerry’s girlfriend accused him of cheating and broke up with him, causing him to be admitted to a hospital for days.
“I was supposed to work 20 hours but ended up working 80 hours per week. I registered with four agencies. I worked three days nonstop without sleep. A Ghanaian classmate gave me a place to sleep for one week, and I got enough to rent a shared apartment.
Three days after my arrival, my girlfriend in Ghana broke up with me after hearing rumours that I came here to get married.”
Jerry disclosed that he was secretly planning on bringing his girlfriend to the UK after a year or two, but she was insecure. Instead, Jerry brought her sister to the UK within two years.
