Yolanda Daniel, a Cameroonian based in the UK stated that it is tough to find true love in the UK, especially in London, because some men are often intimidated by confident and independent women.
In a chat on SVTV International, Miss Daniel indicated that money is not essential in a relationship, and she does not need a man to support her financially. She added that most men in the UK feel threatened by independent women.
“Being single doesn’t mean you are yearning for it. Finding love is the most difficult thing in the world. Love has always been the most beautiful thing and yet the most difficult. Finding love, in general, is very tough and yet so simple. It’s very difficult to find love in
London.
It’s all about work. People don’t socialise, and how do you find love if you don’t socialise? We’ve got stuck with social media love. The men feel they need money to get the best girls, and girls also look out for money,” she told DJ Nyaami.
According to Yolanda, most girls in the UK are sceptical, especially about men from Africa, because they think “he’s coming for paper. Most women here will ask for paper and create a checklist for the men before accepting their proposal.”
Miss Daniel mentioned that some men generally are intimidated by strong-willed women, adding that some women in the UK earn more than men.
