US-based Ghanaian Amos Amoako has revealed that he owns two licensed guns for protection and feels naked going out without a gun.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Amos mentioned how unsafe America is and why he must keep a gun on him at all times. Amos joined his Black American wife in the US after marriage, and they have been together for years.
“The truth is that America is not safe. I have two guns at home, and you have to have one. I feel naked without it. If I go out without it, it feels like I don’t have shoes on.
Everybody has it, but it depends on the state you’re in. There is less violence in this neighbourhood because everyone is protected. You must have a gun on you at all times,” he noted.
According to Amos, the rate of getting robbed in Georgia is high because the youths are unemployed and cannot work because of their criminal records.
“Most have been convicted and have it on their records. These jobs check your criminal record before employing you. So most become jobless and resort to robbery. There are some areas that I don’t visit. You must be careful because it is not safe out here,” he added.
