US-based Ghanaian Stephen Kobina has advised the youths against travelling abroad because it is not a place for Africans to live.
During an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV AFRICA, Stephen mentioned that many Africans living abroad are not able to enjoy life to the fullest due to the lack of community and social ties that they had back in Ghana. Stephen has been living in the US alone for five years.
He mentioned that individuals from warmer countries may have a harder time adjusting to the weather and systems in America.
“Life is not all about finances. Your social ties are as important. America is not a good place for Africans to stay. You can always visit, but I won’t advise anybody to come and settle here. We only come to make money here and take it back home.
Even the Americans want to walk around naked during the summer. There is no joy here. I’ll be happy if my family joins me here, but it doesn’t make it any better,” he said.
Stephen Kobina reiterated the difficulties of living in the US and advised the Ghanaian youth to stay and build the country.
