Isaac Korang, a Ghanaian based in Italy, has stated that Ghanaians abroad who complain about life abroad are mostly depressed or lack vision.
According to him, Ghanaians abroad must not complain about life or the systems abroad because the Ghanaian locals struggle more than they do. Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide, he mentioned the struggles of living in Ghana and compared them to the benefits he receives as a resident in Germany.
“The women who complain are depressed, and the men do not get sex. If you lived in a typical village like I did, you’d never complain about life abroad. Some have never hustled, so waking up early to work here is a struggle. You live in a country that supports kids, you get double pay twice a year, and compare it to those who walk for hours in the sun carrying goods to sell.
Maybe they were rich in Ghana, but for those of us who went through hell in Ghana, Italy is like heaven to us. Even during the pandemic, we still received child support. It is easy to get a job. Everything is accessible here, but a teacher in Ghana cannot even cough up GHS2,000. Are children paid in Ghana?
Moreover, Isaac noted that those who complain should return to Ghana if they cannot keep up with life abroad. He encouraged the locals to travel abroad if they got the opportunity. Living abroad is not suitable for everyone, hence it should not be considered as a top priority.
