Netherlands-based Ghanaian, Henry Jackson disclosed that he makes almost €4000 as a truck driver and shares the benefits of his job.
Jackson revealed during an interview with Daily Hustle Worldwide that he earns more money by working overtime or at night. He added that his job makes working hours flexible as he chooses when to work.
“I make between €2900 to €3000 without overtime, and you have to do overtime almost every day. That is about €3600 to €4000 a month after taxes. Many Ghanaians don’t go into this because of the many requirements.”
Speaking about the requirements for becoming a truck driver in the Netherlands, Jackson said, “It does not require the Dutch language. Driving doesn’t require a language, and English is a second language here. So, it is never a barrier in truck driving.
Henry Jackson moved to the Netherlands from Poland. He worked as an English teacher in a government school. According to him, it paid €60 an hour, however, he moved to the Netherlands for personal reasons.
Moreover, he spoke about the growing number of young Ghanaians travelling abroad and encouraged them that there are opportunities in Ghana as there are abroad.
