Shirley Naah, a Ghanaian lady who recently returned to Ghana from Egypt, travelled to seek greener pastures but returned with debts to settle.
In a previous interview on SVTV Africa, Shirley expressed her regrets for quitting her job to travel to Egypt for a ‘better job’ offer and added that Ghana is far better than Egypt. She pleaded for support to return to Ghana, and SVTV AFRICA Foundation heeded her plea.
Shirley Naah, upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport said, “Ghana is far better than Egypt. I was deceived into going there, and I’m telling you how it is there. I pleaded with the SVTV Africa Foundation to help me return, and they did so through DJ Nyaami.
I’m grateful to you and everyone who supported me. I’ve returned with debt. More debt than I had while in Ghana.”
According to Shirley Naah, many Ghanaian women have died in Egypt, and others are terminally ill but are in hiding to avoid arrest. Reports indicate that Egyptian immigration has alerted all foreign nationals without permits to leave the country before March or face five years of jail term.
