Actress and Social media influencer Afia Dragon disclosed that her maternal aunt accused her of being a witch at age eight and starved her for three days to admit it.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Ghana, Afia indicated that she hates religion because it was the cause of her struggles after her mother’s demise. Afia mentioned that she had to accept it to survive and fled from her aunt’s home at nine years.
“My aunt was a Christian and had been brainwashed to think witchcraft is the cause of everything. Even when she stumbles on a stone, it is a witch’s doing. She called me out one day and asked if I was a witch. I said no, but she told me she would buy me clothes if I said I was a witch. If I would admit that and get clothes, why not?
She took me to church and told the pastor I was a witch and gave me to him. The pastor asked and intimidated me, but I denied it. They put me on dry fasting for three years and gave me water only in the evening. I became weak and admitted it because I was young and didn’t think of the consequences,” she recounted.
After admitting she was a witch, the pastor and her aunt gave her food. Afia Dragon said, ”This is the reason I hate religion so much. Afia’s aunt did all that because her business was collapsing, and she needed someone to blame.
