Firdaus Fuseini Forson, a young Ghanaian based in Egypt, disclosed that her life is in danger as her agent constantly threatens her life.
In a chat on SVTV Africa, Firdaus revealed that the agent promised a good-paying job in Egypt. However, she is subjected to working long hours without pay. Her monthly stipends are given to the agent to settle the $5000 cost of coming to Egypt.
According to Firdaus, the agent promised a GHS4000 job in Egypt, but it was GHS1500. Moreover, her agent takes all of it. Whenever Firdaus complained, she was threatened and sometimes physically abused to the point that she could not work.
“I don’t live with her anymore, and I can’t work either. My passport has been taken, and she’s seized my clothes too. I live with friends now. She has threatened to kill me if I ever come to her house.
The agent is planning to take my life because I stopped paying her. Many Ghanaians here have told me to be careful because they’ve heard about her plan.”
Besides the physical abuse at her agent’s house, Firdaus Forson mentioned that she was maltreated at her job for months. This resulted in her decision to quit. She expressed her regrets for travelling to Egypt and begged viewers for support to return home.
