Yaw Denkyi-Appah, a Ghanaian based in Denmark, stated that he returned to Ghana after his university education abroad but he had to return to Denmark.
Speaking with DJ Nyaami on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Mr Denkyi-Appah indicated that he studied Business Administration in Denmark and returned to Ghana to get his job back. However, Yaw decided to return when he couldn’t find a job in Ghana.
“The course was taught in English, so I did not learn Danish. A woman advised me to learn the language and skills to stay in Denmark. Before that, I returned to Ghana to continue my job, but they kept rescheduling.
Since I had a residency permit in Denmark, I decided to return there. I learned the language and went back to school to study social work.”
Despite working in Denmark for over three decades, Mr Denkyi-Appah mentioned that he never brought any of his kids to Denmark because he prefers raising his kids the Ghanaian way.
“I decided to keep my children in Ghana, so I work hard to cater to them. They are comfortable in Ghana. I did not bring them to Denmark because of how kids are raised here. They don’t need to live abroad,” he said on SVTV Africa.
