Entrepreneur, Adwoa Kunadu revealed that she condemned ‘hookups’ but she had to engage in it to survive on the streets of Accra as a young adult.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Ghana, Adwoa recounted her youth and how poverty pushed her into a trade she once despised and condemned. She once advised her friend to quit hookup but eventually joined the trade.
“The first man I hooked up with was older. He gave me GHS800, and I was shocked and excited because I had never seen that much before. So I decided to continue doing it. Eventually, I had to quit because it was never something I wanted to do. I just needed the money.
The same friend I advised to quit hookup was the one who brought me into it. I was so broke that I accepted it when she told me to. I’ll never say someone influenced me because I chose to go into hookup,” she said on SVTV Africa.
According to Adwoa, even though she needed the money, she was selective about the type of men she slept with.
“I looked out for their accent, tone, perfume, and personality before going with him. However, I listen to my instincts a lot. I won’t go if my instincts advise me against a man. Many girls on the streets come from good homes, but they just love sex and are too lazy to work.
