Issah Sumaila, a young Ghanaian entrepreneur, stated that it is easier to be successful in Ghana than abroad and added that he has no plans to travel to work abroad.
Issah established his food business in Kumasi in 2020 and has added three branches to the first. In a Daily Hustle Ghana interview on SVTV AFRICA, Issah mentioned that he owns 100 acres of land where he grows maize and other crops.
According to him, the Ghanaian youth do not have access to “information.” He believes it is because most would prefer to travel abroad instead of setting up a business in Ghana.
“It is easy to do everything here in Ghana. I started my business in September 2020, but I’ve achieved a lot, and I don’t think it would have been achieved if I travelled abroad. Besides the four branches, I bought 100 acres of land last month for farming. I believe the youth lacks information,” he said.
In response to why he would not travel abroad, Issah told host DJ Nyaami that “the white man is not my friend. History tells us that he does not want me to succeed. Besides, I have everything I need here in Ghana. I don’t think I can make the amount I get working abroad.”
