Germany-based Ghanaian Marcus disclosed that after seven years in Germany, he would like to return to Ghana, and advised the Ghanaian youth to avoid travelling abroad if they make more than ₵3000 monthly.
In a Daily Hustle Worldwide interview, Marcus mentioned that he was desperate to travel abroad while in Ghana and even ‘cursed’ himself that he “would not succeed in life unless he travelled abroad.”
He mentioned that Germany has had a significant financial influence on him, but his long-term goal is to return to Ghana.
“It may be true that the systems here are much better than in Ghana, but most of us abroad live fake lives. At one point, I had to ask my family in Ghana for money. I slept in someone’s hall and paid €180. It gets worse if you don’t have documents to work.
So do not allow any agent to deceive you into coming abroad. You’d have to pay €9000 to come here through connection, and if you have that in Ghana, why come here? If I had that money, I would not have cursed myself into travelling abroad,” Marcus said on SVTV AFRICA.
Moreover, he advised Ghanaians who earn between ₵3000 and ₵5000 to stay in Ghana and travel abroad for visits only. He said, “Many are struggling here, but they pretend. Don’t allow agents to deceive you.”
