Abena Serwaa, a Ghanaian living in the UK, has stated that she is unhappy abroad and would return to Ghana if she had £30,000 in her bank account.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Abena mentioned that she had no plans of travelling abroad, but her brother sponsored her trip. According to Serwaa, her brother helped her integrate into the system and found a job for her.
After three years in the UK, Abena Serwaa wishes to return to Ghana. She believes there is no social life in the UK because citizens always rush to work.
“I remember the first job my brother got for me. I worked 18 hours a day for seven days. I would wash plates for hours and clean them. I came back home one day and couldn’t get up. My brother had to call the ambulance.
I’ll return home if I get the money. I’m not happy here. If I have £30,000 right now, I’ll return to Ghana to stay permanently,” she told DJ Nyaami.
Moreover, DJ Nyaami quizzed her on the number of years it would take to save up £30,000, and Serwaa said,” It will take a very long time. If you want to save it faster, you’ll have to starve yourself to save that money.”
She advised Ghanaians hoping to travel abroad to refrain from paying huge amounts to ‘connection men’ for visas because they might regret it later.
