Australia-based Ghanaian Kwame Poku has decided to remain single after his previous marriage failed to be of benefit to him.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Quame revealed that only 10% of married men benefit from their marriages. He added that he feels free now and has no plans to marry again.
“I don’t see any benefits that men get from marriage. It puts us down instead. I’m not sure you’ll even get 10% of men who have benefitted from their marriages. The majority of women divorce their husbands after they travel abroad.”
Mr Opoku disclosed that his ex-wife travelled to the UK and filed for divorce through her mother while he was in Ghana.
Kwame’s ex-wife left the country without telling him and claimed it was because of his financial constraints.
“My salary was reduced by 50% because my company changed their mode of operation. Honestly, life became tough, but we endured. I called her from work one day, and it was off. She called on WhatsApp later to tell me she was in London.
My ex-wife told me she couldn’t stay with the turn of events. Her attitude began to change, so I visited her mother, but she told me to forget about my wife and focus on the kids. Eventually, a lawyer called to inform me that my in-law was filing for a divorce on my wife’s behalf, but my ex denied it,” he said.

I really like your program and I must say you are doing a great job…
I have a question I would like you to ask your interviewers who claim to be leaving a better life outside Ghana .
1. Do they take care of there parents?
I watch one interview you did with one Samuel Ockom who claim to be 10* better out there but can’t take care of his own parents… Rather insulting his family any how because he has a little change in his pocket. What a pathetic life
