Gloria Agyeman, a veteran Kumawood actress, disclosed that she quit her first job in the UK because of her fame.
Speaking on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Gloria indicated that she joined her husband in the UK because she could not continue to act without proper remuneration. However, Gloria mentioned feeling embarrassed when her fans approached her at her workplace.
“I had to work when I joined my husband. I thought it was easy to make money abroad until I experienced the hustle you have to go through. He got a cleaning job for me, but I quit because of stardom. I was cleaning the window one day when a woman greeted me.
The next day, she greeted me in Twi and within thirty minutes, ten people had surrounded me. They even wanted to take photos with me. Immediately I got home, I told my husband that I had quit,” she recounted.
According to Gloria, her husband convinced her to continue the job despite her fame. Gloria began acting in 1999 with other actors like Nana Ama McBrown, Micheal Afrane, the late Kwame Owusu Ansah, Bob Santo and more.
