South Africa-based Ghanaian Ernestina Takyiwaa has stated that she regrets leaving behind her salon for SA and added that she would return to Ghana soon.
In a chat on SVTV Africa, Ernestina indicated that she left her workers in charge of the salon, but they abandoned the shop within a few days.
Ernestina revealed that her friend convinced her to come to South Africa, but “I cried when I saw the shop she works at. I was sad in the first few days in South Africa. I regret coming because I left behind my business.
I had eight workers in Ghana, but I became a slave in South Africa. I wanted to return in the first few months, but the Ghanaians here convinced me to stay,” she said.
Moreover, Ernestina mentioned that she feels unsafe in South Africa as a foreigner and hopes to return to Ghana after the festive season.
“I have not been attacked before, but I see and hear them. We heard about a church that was recently robbed. Some time ago, a driver rolled down his car window and fired a warning shot while driving. We are not far here. I will come back after Christmas.”
