Ghanaian artiste Quabena Benji revealed that his mother-in-law sold her plot of land to support his music dream when his parents rebuked him for it.
In a chat on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Benji mentioned that he left home due to some misunderstanding to stay with his girlfriend and family (now wife) for five years. During Benji’s stay at his mother-in-law’s house, he recalled that she treated him as a son and invested in his dream.
“During my five-year stay at her home, she provided me with food, clothing, and all necessary assistance. That woman did something for me that I’ll never forget. She sold her plot of land to shoot a music video for my 2 Sure album.
During the shoot, my wife came to the location with food that my mother-in-law asked them to bring. I was shocked because we had no food to eat that day,” he recounted.
The ‘Adoma’ hitmaker expressed gratitude towards his mother-in-law for embracing him and showing concern, in contrast to his father, who pushed him away due to his involvement in music.
